Reviews

Lovely day with Akos riding to Szendendre. He was prompt, professional but casual enough to be fun. The bikes were excellent, the instructions crystal clear and the commentary was informative and entertaining. Szendendre was well worth visiting specially with such a great guide and if there’s anything you want to know about wine, just ask him.

Well-rounded bike tour through city to Szentendre
We had a lovely day (10am-6pm) biking up through the city, (stops at Parliament and Margaret Island-beautiful park!) and on a long flat well-paved stretch through Old Buda on to Szentendre, a very picturesque and hilly village where we had lunch (Hungarian Langos) and spent a couple of hours to wander, see the sights and shops. A ferry takes you back down river to Budapest, docking right in around Chain Bridge, beautiful views In total the journey was about 25km (16 miles) so be ready for this if it’s a hot summer’s day, as it was for us. There was also quick stop halfway for ‘Frocc’ (wine-seltzer mix) at a cafe along the Danube, which was much-needed refreshment. Our local guide provided great conversation and local cultural information throughout.

Our trip was interesting and fun and we were given a decent overview of the history of Hungary and Budapest and insight into its place in our beloved Europe! Our guide was an excellent ambassador of your company! This was a perfect trip providing many great memories of our time spent.

We had a perfect day biking with our tour guide, Ákosh. We biked around Margaret Island and less-well known Obodu before following along the Danube to beautiful Szentendre, a little artist colony on the Danube Bend. The pacing of our tour was great, with several photo stops, a drink at a little cafe overlooking the river, and a short guided walking tour of Szentendre. Ákosh is very knowledgeable about Hungarian history and gave us a great overview of the developments in the town. The tour also included a fabulous lunch of lángos, Hungarian street food, and we had time to browse the galleries and shops. We returned to Budapest on a boat. It was better than we could have hoped. Highly recommended.

Perfect Day
This was a wonderful tour….. exercise, great food (langos), excellent guide (thank you Akis), beautiful weather and scenery, interesting town of Szentendre. Highly recommend this tour as a way of seeing parts of Budapest one might otherwise miss and of experiencing local life outside the city.

We have been traveling to various cities in Europe for the last 3 months and this was our best excursion. We are in our 60s and enjoy bicycle tours but this one was wwonderful as we traveled in the city some, biked through nature on Margitsziget, traveled up the scenic Danube and ended in Szentendre. I recommend using e-bikes as it just allowed you to take everything in while traveling. Balazs our guide was amazing. Sharing his knowledge of the area gave us insights you won’t get on a big group tour. His easy going nature, letting us stop to take a picture of a bird I had never seen was so appreciated – he wasn’t driving us to be at a certain place at a certain time. My friend is gluten intolerant and he managed an alternative lunch to accommodate all of us. Szentendre was a beautiful town and we found the souvenirs there were cheaper than in budapest. We had free time to look around and shop. We came back by train which provided a different view of the area. It was 8 hours in total with the right amount of stops for drink and lunch along the way. Highly recommend this tour.

Nature at its Best

Like i said Nature at its best. We started with cycling around the city where the tour guide stops in several places and explains about the history about the City – She was very interactive and engaging, in fact gave away beautifu post cards for anyone who could guess the right answers…we cycled our way to Szentendre by the beautiful river and through the forest. The place itself was so amazing with great architecture. We had local food – Lángos (have to try) and a walk through the holiday village where the tour guide explains the history and takes you to visit a few Church. A special mention to our tour guide Sarah, she was really amazing and made this trip even better, always looked out for everyone in the group and kept checking if everyone was alright… Thank you Sarah.
